ReplyDeleteQuite right. As human beings, we glorify pleasure over pain (for obvious reasons), although we tend to forget that one is meaningless without the other.
ReplyDeleteFor example, I find that people in North America tend to have so much insofar as material comfort and security is concerned, but they often seem bored with life. Whereas Latin American people have a lot less, and live in constant danger, yet we relish every moment as if it were our last and enjoy life to the fullest in many ways.
Light is not light without shadow and vice versa. So too are poets lost without their AntiPoet brethren to contrast . . . lots to think about here. Thank you!
